Monday, July 6, 2020 — Maiden Then and Now

In the first in the five episodes, Women Who Sail founder Charlotte Kaufman hosted a panel with Tracy Edwards MBE, current Maiden crew member Courtney Koos, and Theresa Riedl, a “milebuilder” crewmember. Tracy Edwards posed the question, “What has changed in the 30 years since Maiden’s first voyage”. They discussed Maiden then and now.


Monday, July 13, 2020 — Education and Maiden

Karen Harris of the National Women’s Sailing Association hosted Tracy Edwards MBE, skipper and mentor Annie O’Sullivan, crewmember Amalia Infante, and Maiden Factor volunteer Kenza Salem. They discussed how Maiden hopes to continue the fight started 30 years ago through a ’round the world tour’. What ports they will stop at and how to invite them.


Monday, July 20 — Why Was Maiden Successful?

A star-studded panel of original crew members will dish details about the wherefore of Maiden’s success in the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race. You might have seen the documentary, but this was your chance to “meet” Tracy Edwards, Sally Hunter and Jeni Mundy. And yes, you got to ask some of the best racers on the planet what it’s like to go to the edge of the world and back again.


The Making of the Movie Maiden

Maiden the film about the first all-female team to compete in the Whitbread Round the World Race, was one of the top-grossing documentaries last year. The original Maiden crew and the film editor joined us on this episode of Maiden Monday.

Host Haley Lhamon chats with Tracy Edwards, crew/videographer Jo Gooding and crew/photographer Tanja Visser. Katie Bryer rounds out the making of Maiden panel. She is the London-based professional film editor who made Joanna’s and Tanja’s footage and. the crews interviews into the inspiring narrative many of us enjoyed in the documentary.


Monday, August 3 — Round Up


Tracy Edwards MBE and current crew members Nikki Henderson, Amalia Infante, Erica Lush, and Belle Henry talk with Women Who Sail Admin and journalist Anne Bryant about what we can expect when Maiden gets going on their ’round the world tour again in April 2021.
The five presentations of Maiden Monday fundraising events was a collaboration between The Maiden Factor, Women’s Sailing Foundation/National Women’s Sailing Association, and Women Who Sail. Episodes 4 and 5 are sponsored by NauticEd – 21st Century Sailing Education.
